Endangered Animals A WebQuest

There are many endangered animals in the world today. "Endangered" means these animals are at risk of extinction (dying out). These animals are dying for many reasons: things people are doing, the animals' environment, things other animals are doing.

Red Panda

You will be advocating for an endangered animal of your choosing. With your group, choose an animal and add slides to the class presentation on Google slides to encourage people to help protect the animal. Use the Resources below to find information about the animal and ways to protect it. In your presentation, you must include:

  • The animal's common name and scientific name
  • Three pictures of the animal
  • Conservation status
  • Where it lives (habitat)
  • Picture of the habitat
  • Remaining population
  • What it eats
  • The reason it is becoming extinct
  • Three other interesting facts
  • How humans can help the animal

After you complete the presentation, write a blog post individually on a Google document about your experience. Answer the questions: What did you like best about this project? What can I as the teacher do to make this project better?

Remember that as people who are made in God's image, we have a responsibility to care for the world, especially endangered animals.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
