Natural Disasters The earth's natural causes By: yasmin

Earth has many natural disasters. For example: earthquakes, tsunamis, volcano eruptions and etc.

Volcano eruptions are created when magma rises through cracks in the Earth's crust. When the plates move magma explodes to the surface causing a volcanic eruption. When this happens, the lava cools down creating a new crust. After several eruptions, the rock builds up and forms into a volcano. Some volcanos erupt in under water. Indonesia has many volcanoes mainly in the western parts of Indonesia.

/nEarthquakes occur when the plates or rocks underneath rub against each other. When the rocks break an earthquake happens. Australia is not on an edge of a plate, but she does experience some earthquakes because of the Indonesian plate that pushes towards the north.
