In 2012,a couple of scooter enthusiasts, hanging out in a garage were discussing the need for a scooter club or meet-up place for people who had scooters in their youth and having had families wanted to return to the road and meet like minded people. As it happened the garage was a place where the tools and the knowledge to repair and restore scooters were readily available. It was a place to work, a place to drop in and meet friends and a place to store scooters. So was born the Pit Stop Krew Sc, and our clubhouse / garage became the hub of the club.
Our first logo was the Rat on a Vespa which we put on a canvass, and brought to our first official ride-out and invited anyone who wanted to be part of our venture to sign. Some have come and gone since then, but at the moment we stand as 35 members and other occasional companions. We hold our monthly club meetings in John Kavanagh's pub in Glasnevin, better known as The Gravediggers. Conveniently it belongs to the family of one of our members, and they welcome us whenever we begin or end a spin or event there.
Our famous meeting place.
Each month we plan our weeks ahead with suggestions for events and spins from all members. This year we will host our 4th Port Tunnel run, our 7th Rockin Road Festival & 3rd Graveyard Spin at Halloween. We regularly take part in other events such as Dunboyne MC Festival of Speed, Toy Run for the Women's Refuge, The Egg Run for Our Ladies Hospital as well as attending events hosted by other clubs. One of our proudest was to be at the heart of an all Ireland endeavour, to build a Vespa Px for Aoibheann's Pink Tie charity. This charity is for the families of children dealing with childhood cancer, and John Martin Kenny rallied scooterists and co-ordinated the build from a skipped scooter to a show stopper which is regularly at events and helping raise funds for this worthwhile charity. It was handed over to Jimmy Norman, one of the charities founders, at The Spirit of Dunboyne event in 2014 by a proud scooterist to a proud father.

Although we are fundamentally a scooter club, we ride with bikers and attend car events as we enjoy a broad spectrum of interests. Our club has international recognition through attending events abroad, and we also have a representative on the Board of the Vespa World Club, who promotes the ideals of Irish scootering with Vespisti around the world.
In the last few months we have added to our club with a group called The Vespa Manshed, to encourage those who need a place to work on their scooters, who are looking for a place to meet and spend time and also to find support when they need it.
Our club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at The Gravediggers at 8pm. our Facebook page is Vespa Mashed; Dublin. We post all information from our meetings the next day, with all upcoming events, meet ups and spins. We welcome everyone who would like to ride with us, come for the chat when it suits you and your available time. If you cant make an event/spin its not a crime. We are free and easy.
