Nonconformity

“Whoso would be a man, must be a nonconformist. He who would gather immortal palms must not be hindered by the name of goodness, but must explore it if it be goodness. Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind. Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have the suffrage of the world.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Things that I grew up with stay with me. You start a certain way, and then you spend your whole life trying to find a certain simplicity that you had. It's less about staying in childhood than keeping a certain spirit of seeing things in a different" - Tim Burton

Tim Burton defines Non-Comformity as a person because although he has an edgy personality and expresses that through his films people think he is weird from it but that did not stop him from being himself and making a Gothic form of films because just by showing who he was he made millions of dollars.

Self Reliance

"We commonly do not remember that it is, after all, always the first person that is speaking." - Henry David Thoreau

“Self-reliance and independence can transform into selfishness and license, ambition into greed and a frantic desire to succeed at any cost." - Barack Obama

Barack Obama defines Self Reliance because besides our current or past Presidents he resolves situations independently and creates organizations, etc on his own without any help.

Importance of Nature

“A man's power to connect his thought with its proper symbol, and so to utter it, depends on the simplicity of his character, that is, upon his love of truth, and his desire to communicate it without loss." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Only you can prevent wildfires" - Smokey the Bear

Smokey the Bear defines the Importance of Nature because he influences people to respect and take charge of nature and defend nature from our own instincts and actions, in other words he reminds everyone to think before we act because nature is much more important than it seems.

Simplified Life

"No value in life except what you choose to place upon it" - Henry David Thoreau

"Minimalism is the thing that gets us past the things so we can make room for life’s most important things—which actually aren’t things at all." - Joshua Fields

Joshua Fields defines a Simplified Life because he minimizes what he owns in ways such as only buying things he feels he REALLY needs and not buying a new car or even a new pair of jeans. Fields only owns 50 things in total including clothing, accessories, a car, and a house.
