Weldon Cooper Center Media Team Introduction

We are the newly formed Media Team at the Weldon Cooper Center! Our goal is to communicate the activities of the center and increase online engagement around public service work happening here. We intend to tell stories of the dedicated public servants at the Cooper Center through the creation and dissemination of engaging podcasts, videos, and written articles. Our team is comprised of UVA students working to provide meaningful digital content about the center as well as increase the accessibility of its resources.

Meet the Team: Nicholas Brozey (videographer), Rachel Freeman (Social Media Coordinator), Justin Zollar (videographer), Uhunoma Edamwen (videographer), and Deiontrae Lawrence (videographer)

Since our launch, the team has gathered footage from Cooper Center events like the Sorensen Legislative Day, the Chrysler Museum Fundraiser, and the Sorensen Political Leaders Program Graduation.

Media Team members, Miles and Nick, interviewed Sorensen award winners at the Capitol building in Richmond last weekend. We are putting together a video for the upcoming Sorensen Gala and are excited about other prospects of shooting on-site videos to showcase the events of the Cooper Center.

We also attended the VLGMA Winter Conference in Staunton where we conducted interviews with attendees and collected footage to share with the Cooper Center following.

These are a few of the projects we have been working on, but we would love to create even more content for the Cooper Center staff. Let us know what you would like to see from us in the future and what we can do for you!
