The Edge (David Evans) was born in 1961, Barking, United Kingdom. His first music influence was an Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher

The Edge has a very distinct and signature sound. He uses a blend of delay and reverb in most of his perfromances.

u2 was formed in 1976, they eventually became globally recognized by the mid 1980's for their live performances. This band consists of Bono (lead vocals), the Edge (Guitar), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums).

Throughout their career, U2 has released 13 albums. They are one of the best selling artists of all time. They have won 22 Grammy Awards, and in 2005 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Edge is known as U2s guitarist, but really he is Bono's other half when it comes to writing songs. He came up with the idea for Mysterious Ways that was released in 1991.
