The saint of my birthday- St. Edith Stein By: Laney fox

St. Edith was born in 1891 and died in 1942. She is the patroness of Europe. The church celebrates her on August 9th.

St. Edith was the youngest child of a Jewish family. She was a very good student and as she became older she grew an interest in the Catholic faith. In 1922 she was baptized. She was arrested by the Nazis and sent to a concentration camp. She died in the gas chambers in Auschwitz. She was canonized in 1998.

Dear God, Please help me see the good in others no matter their race or religion. Please help me be open to other religions and see their point of view. Help me stay focused in school and get good grades. Through the intercession of St. Edith Stein. Amen
