Nick Stock reviews Our new import - champagne Colin

A grower house situated in Vertus, run by the Colin family – Richard, Delphine and Romain. Wines of great precision, energy and finesse. With premier and grand cru vineyards in the Cote de Blancs, this is a strong line up of Blanc de Blancs Champagne, but also equally impressive is their Rosé.

90 Points. Bright, light and fresh style with citrus fruit and white flowers on the nose, delivering an upbeat impression. Flinty nuances, too. The palate has a smooth sleeve of lemon and light peach flavor. Very approachable, refreshing, all-round style here. A blend of 70 per cent chardonnay and 30 per cent pinot meunier from Vertus and Sézanne, disgorged in December 2017. Drink now. Nick Stock, September 2018

91 Points. Attractive lemon and pastry notes with light, almond and chalky elements, too. The palate is smoothly delivered with a fresh and fullish set of flavors in the peach and lemon spectrum. Fine, underlying acidity holds it fresh. Smooth, salty tang and a gently toasty finish. Form parcels in Vertus and Bergères-les-Vertus, this was disgorged October 2017. Drink now. Nick Stock, September 2018
