Reflection:
Hands- In this project I learned how to take risks by doing hard hand positions, and I developed the skill of drawing what I actually see.
Shaded Hand- This project helped me with the skill of shading which I improved a lot on.
Upside Down Man- I was able to observe the lines I had to draw that would eventually become a man.
Falling Out of a Window- In this project I was able to create my own original art and reflect on the other skills that I needed to complete this task like shading.

Reflection:
Self Portrait- In the self portrait I developed the skill of shading accurately because in the way the photo was taken there were different light shades on my face and sweatshirt.
Clay Pot- While making the pottery pot I took a risk with the sgraffito because I choose to do a design that was on going and if I messed up it would have been hard to fix.
Skull- The skull was also pottery project were I communicated with Georgia because I did not get how the mouth looked like on a skull.
Negative Space- In this project I developed the skill of paint mixing for the background colors of the negative space.
Watercolor
Notan
Acrylic Paintings
Reflection:
Watercolor Practice- In this project I developed basic skill while learning new techniques with the water color brush.
Watercolor Painting- During this project I problem solved to make little white dots look like tiny stars with a toothbrush.
Notan- In the notan project I created original art because I used my own idea of cutting out shapes and pasting them on the side the shapes reflected on.
Progress Photos- The progress of the color wheel took some time, but I was able to develop the skill of better paint mixing.
Artist Project
Reflection:
In the painting I did I created my own art while using some of the techniques Wayne Thiebuad did. Also I developed the skill of texture because my painting required different textures. I was also able to take risks because I did not know what I was going to do for the decoration ball, but I figured it out.
Reflection:
In the Printmaking Unit my block prints had a theme of the sport golf. I was able to develop the skill of carving with a gouger and I learned how to roll ink on a block print with a brayer. Also I created original art by carving out my own objects of golf related objects and backgrounds. The ink I used was a bit challenging because it got really sticky and I observed that it would start to dry out when I left it on the paper plate. Overall I learned a lot about printmaking and enjoyed it.

During class we have been working on one point and two point perspective. I developed the skill of knowing how to use horizon lines, vanishing points, and orthogonal lines. In the one point perspective drawing I did, I was able to observe and draw a picture of an indoor pool. This project was fun and I enjoyed coloring in my final piece after it was done, but I did not like how long it took me to draw one item or detail in my artwork.

Calligraphy and Embroidery
Calligraphy- In calligraphy I created original art by using india ink, a pen nib, and the pen handle. In my work I created a design using one line and then colored it green and white pastel.
Embroidery/stitchery- While doing stitchery I developed many skills. For example I learned how to do many stitches and I learned how to use a needle and thread it through the muslin cloth.
Blog Post 8:
Colored Pencil and Paper Mache
Reflection:
Paper Mache Head- During the paper mache project I created original art by making a pineapple out of a head. I used newspaper, glue stuff, and a head mold to get the shape. My paper mache project was not personal at all,I just did it for fun and I was thinking of Spongebob at the time. If I had the chance to make paper mache again I would make a donut.
Colored Pencil Projects- In these projects I created original art and developed the skills of using colored pencils and knowing how to layer them. Also, when I created the the arm I had to use different shading techniques to contrast the bone from the paper. I do not think my circular hand design qualifies as a personal mandala because I wanted to create an illusion with mine and not portray myself through the piece of art I created.
Final Blog Post and May Post:
Reflection:
Since my first blog post I have created original art, developed skills, and took risks. I have used all these artistic behaviors in my artwork throughout the year. In my opinion I also think that I had the opportunity to use all the artistic behaviors, not just the ones I mentioned. Overall, my favorite unit was either the painting that was similar to your artist or the watercolor unit. In the painting that was similar to my artist I painted a picture of an appetiser I got at a restaurant because my artist painted food and desserts. I liked this project because my piece turned out well and I developed some more skill to painting with acrylic paint. Also, I liked the watercolor color project because I got to create original art.
The unit I learned most from was the drawing unit. I never have really known how to draw things I kind of just went with my thoughts, instead of actually looking at the object from different perspectives. This is one of my favorite classes because I get to do things I want to do. I would not change one thing about this class. Something I would keep of this class is the freedom we get to create anything we want to do.
One of my favorite art pieces I created this year was the human arm in bone form. This was my favorite thing I did because I really like to incorporate parts of the human body into my artwork. Or I just like to draw human bones. Then I add something to make it look cool, like color or a design. As of now I look forward to taking AP Art and I really enjoyed Art 1 because it helped me learn a lot about the basics of art.
