Falcons Win Third Straight

The Falcons complete the season sweep of the Carolina Panthers, beating them 33-16. This is the ninth time in franchise history the team has reached 10 wins in a season – first time since 2012.

The Falcons offense recorded 408 total yards on the day. This is the seventh time the Falcons have recorded 400+ total yards this season, and the 10th time this team has scored at least 30 points – third in a row.

The 151 rushing yards are the most rushing yards recorded against Carolina since 2011 (Week 6: 166 yards). Also, the Falcons have 10 players with two-or-more touchdown receptions - marking the first time in NFL history that a team has done that, according to STATS, LLC.

QB Matt Ryan went 27-of-33 for 277 yards and two touchdowns and a 121.8 passer rating. Ryan broke his career high and franchise record for most passing touchdowns in a season (34).

Ryan broke the record on his 26-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Perkins – his first career touchdown reception.

Ryan is the first quarterback to throw a passing touchdown to 13 different receivers in a single season in NFL history. Ryan also completed 81.8-percent of his passes – a season high and the fifth highest of his career.

TE D.J. Tialavea caught his first touchdown pass of his career in his first career NFL game. 5th different tight end to catch a touchdown pass this season.

RB Tevin Coleman scored on a 55-yard touchdown run – longest run of his career. The touchdown was his eighth rushing touchdown of the season – 10th total touchdown of the year – and it is the first time in franchise history the Falcons have had two running backs with 10 total touchdowns.

Coleman and Devonta Freeman teamed up for 223 total yards, which is the fourth time they’ve accomplished this feat this season – second straight week.

The defense only allowed QB Cam Newton to complete 41.9-percent of his passes – a season low. The defense also only allowed four third conversions (4-15). The 26.7 third down percentage is the second lowest percentage the defense has allowed this season. The team also moved their sack streak to 14 games.

CBs Brian Poole and Jalen Collins both recorded their first career interceptions.

Collins finished the game with six total tackles and two pass deflections.

DE Brooks Reed and DT Courtney Upshaw teamed up for the first sack of the game. That sack was Reed’s second sack of the year and Upshaw’s first of the year.

Ra’Shede Hageman also recorded his second sack of the season.

K Matt Bryant broke the franchise record for most points scored in a season (150). Bryant also went four-of-five on field goals, including making two field goals from 50 yards.
