Cellular Respiration Aerobic and Anaerobic

C6H12O2 + 6O2 --> 6Co2 + 6H2O

Part One: Glycolysis:

Glycolosis is a catabolic reaction in the cytoplasm and moves into the Mitochondria while its breaks down sugar and splits off into two different categories: Aerobic and Anaerobic. Glycolysis is the first reaction in both Fermentation and Cellular Respiration. Through this whole process Glucose is broken down to make Pyruvic acid

C6H12O6 --> 2 C3H4O3

Glycolysis also produces 2 ATP and 2 NADH

The Mitochondria

Part 2: The Kreb Cycle

The second stage of Cellular Respiration that takes place inside of the Mitochondria's Matrix in Animals, plants, and some bacteria. It is an aerobic process that starts with pyruvate being broken down into CO2 and makes NADH and FADH2.

Part 3: electronic transport Chain

Also known as Oxidative Phosphorylation, the electronic transport chain takes place in the Cristae of the Mitochondria. NADH and FADH2 is transferred to the chain where hydrogen passes electrons through and Oxygen is connected to Hydrogen to make Water. The remaining hydrogen passes through ATP Synthase to make ATP. In this process 34 ATP is produced.

ALL TOGETHER THE ATP IN THE END IS EQUAL TO 38.

Why is this Important?

This is Important because cellular respirations allows for energy to be made efficiently in most living organisms. It also provides water and oxygen for our bodies.
