The Holy Spirit is the living presence of God in the Church, and in our lives. He keeps the Church moving forward. beyond the limits, onwards. The Holy Spirit with His gifts guides the Church. You cannot understand the Church of Christ without this Paraclete, whom the Lord sends us for this very reason. And He makes unthinkable choices, but also extraordinary ones.

Two ways that the Holy Spirit guides and influences the church :

1. One way that the Holy Spirit guides the church is by influencing the cardinals to pick the pope. After a pope dies, cardinals must come together in what is called a conclave and pick a new pope. During this event the Holy Spirit comes forth to install its blessings on them.

2. The second way the Holy Spirit guides the church is by illuminating its high ranking members to do good deeds and obey Gods rules. Life as a priest, Bishop, or cardinal can be full of temptation to sin. The Holy Spirit helps the church officials to hold back their Worley desires.

Contemporary example of the Holy Spirit in the church

The Holy Spirit works in the church today the same way it worked within the church thousands of years ago. The Holy Spirits place in the church is to illuminate the minds and hearts of both the clergy and the Catholic people. He has done this for ages and will continue to open the minds and hearts of men to hear Gods voice.

The Holy Spirit continues Christ ministry today

Most of Jesus' final disclosures to His disciples consists not of commandments but responsible to obey, and of promises He would fulfill on their behalf. John 14:15-26 is the heart of His message of comfort—that after His ascension into heaven, the Holy Spirit would come in His place to help them. The disciples did come to receive the Holy Spirit, and the people of today have as well. The Holy Spirit is still in the church and moving Christ's ministry forward as the Catholic Church continues to spread the word of God to all parts of the world.

The power of the Holy Spirit in the church today

The Holy Spirit power and wisdom can be seen through the eyes of average men. We are really helpless in getting accurate guidance and direction unless the Spirit works tells us what to do. The Spirit is especially present, especially active, in junctures of our life time when we're making vital decisions that are going to affect us for many days to come. Again and again, Scripture suggests to us that when we open ourselves to God, the Spirit works in us with power and we can depend on his amazing power.
