Citrus High School 2017-2018 Welcome Letter from the Principal

July 25, 2017

Citrus High School Students,

Congratulations on being recognized as a “B” school! We know that it takes your efforts, along with the support of all stakeholders, to achieve this success and we look forward to working with you and your families to continue striving for excellence.

Our staff has worked hard this summer to prepare for your return and while you may wish you had a few more days to relax by the pool, we can’t wait to have you back at school. We are proud of your accomplishments and it gives us great pleasure to watch you grow daily. To be honest, it’s busy during the summer, but the hallways are just too quiet for me. 😊

We are very excited to have you as students and we believe being a Hurricane is something special. We want you to take pride in your academic achievement, but we also want you to enjoy high school. If you aren’t already, get involved! There are many opportunities for you at school and we encourage you to start asking about ways to participate.

High school is an incredible and memorable time in your life. As a Citrus High School graduate, I can tell you firsthand that you will make wonderful memories, you will build lifelong friendships, you will gain mentors, and you will grow; believe me, you will face challenges, but when you walk across the stage as a Hurricane graduate you will be proud and your opportunities will be endless.

Our administrative team, our faculty, and our staff are here to support you, but we are also here to challenge you. It is our responsibility to help prepare you for your future. We don’t take that responsibility lightly. We believe that student success does not lie solely in results, but in your efforts. Being the best is not as important as doing the best. So, we challenge you to do your best daily, push yourself, work hard and dream big. Nothing is out of your reach.

On another note, please be patient as counselors continue to balance and adjust your schedules. Once Skyward opens for your viewing please note that counselors will continue to balance and adjust until the first week of school. You will report to homeroom on August 10th before first block and there you will receive your finalized schedule.

You will also be excited to hear that we have added a school store in the front office. Hurricane Fanatics will be open daily during the school week for you and your families. Keep an eye on the morning show for an update on school store hours.

I am honored to serve as your Principal at Citrus High School. If I, or any member of our administrative team, can be of assistance to you at any time please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Together we will achieve great success! #OneHurricane
