Forest fresco

Artist's Statement

For this project I used watercolor paint over plaster. The plaster is poured over burlap to hold it together and prevent it from cracking. It was really hard to blend the color because the plaster soaks up the water almost as soon as it's put down. I think I could've done better but I still like it. I'm glad I didn't try to fill in the background because I'm sure it would've ruined it. Now that I think about it, it kind of does remind me of a book I read but the only correlation is the colors.
