Inspiring Active Citizenship at Wheeler
We are in the midst of an election season that has been and will continue to be marked by lack of civility, the likes of which we have not seen in our lifetimes – and I hope we will not see again. While we can continue to hope that better angels will prevail outside of our school community, our work is to provide the best possible experience for our children to embody active citizenship by engaging in dialogue that is respectful, productive, and informative. I want to share with you the essence of the guidelines that we have shared with our student community, created by our Strategic Initiatives Council, a group of faculty, and school leadership. - Allison Gaines Pell Head of School
This Week at Wheeler: The Mystery Door has piqued curiosity and imagination since its discovery last summer during our Hope Building Renovations. Find out whose art has been selected as the first Mystery Door installation.
The stark separation that COVID-19 created during quarantine has had lasting effects; some manifested into beautiful and creative outputs, like this piece of music by Upper School Jazz Teacher with Wheeler alumni and faculty.
Also, this week, we want you to meet our Enrollment team and enjoy one of Wheeler's favorite traditions, Jamboree! The Advocacy & Activism Club reminds us to vote, and are you curious about what our Warriors are up to? Visit www.wheelerwarriors.org for the most up-to-date information.

Our annual Multicultural Performance Showcase is scheduled for November 13, 2020. While we will be celebrating our diversity through the performing arts differently this year, celebrate we will!
We hope you will consider sharing your ethnic or cultural tradition with a dance, music, song, or spoken word performance. We encourage traditional cultural attire for the performance. Due to health guidelines, each performance will be recorded separately in the Gilder Center for the Arts Auditorium with only staff from Wheeler School Broadcasting. The recordings will be developed into a video released following a zoom surprise.
If you are interested, please contact me at your earliest convenience. All my best,
Princess Sirleaf Bomba, Director of Unity & Diversity
