Daily Tasks of a Summer Camp Director:
- Attend training and weekly staff meetings
- Develop and direct activities
- Supervise daily check-ins and check-outs of all day campers
- Direct all staff and volunteers assigned to work with leads for group activities
- Track and assign staff to weekly roles
- Manage budget
- Maintain and stock equipment
- Maintain weekly camp records
- Practice and enforce all camp safety and emergency regulations and procedures
- Abide all camp policies
- Responsible for all health and well being of self, staff, and campers
Work Schedule:
- During summer months a camp director works mostly around the clock
- Work week can consist of 80 hours
- Typical work week when summer is out is 9-5
Salary:
- Typical salary is $15,000-$50,000 depending on size of camp and the responsibilities
Work Environment:
- Close working quarters
- Always outdoors
