Monkton Park Newsletter 7th December 2018

A huge well done to our Reception children this week, who produced a brilliant nativity performance. They spoke clearly, sang wonderfully and knew their parts really well. Thank you to all the staff who put so much into making it such a huge success.

As many of you will have seen, work has begun on our outdoor classroom. It should be finished by the end of the term and we're looking to forward to the grand opening in the new year.

Christmas Fair tonight..........

Christmas Ticket Allocations

On Monday we will be sending home tickets in book bags for our KS1 Christmas performances. This year we will be allocating seat numbers which will be shown on your ticket. If you would prefer to pick up your ticket from the school office please do let us know.

New Hall TV!

We were delighted to have installed a new 75" TV in our hall this week. The TV replaces our old interactive whiteboard and projector and will be used in assemblies (whole school and our class performances), PE lessons & after school club. Alongside this we've also replaced the speakers so we have a far better sound for music and videos that are played.

Balance Bikes

We now have 10 balance bikes to use with some of the younger children in the school and looking forward to using them after Christmas!

Achievement Awards

Congratulations in week 5 to: Charlie Rowe, Megan Little, Rosa Bailey, Sophie Hughes, Skye Hilman, Daisy-Mae Griffin, Oscar Parsons, Evie Wills

Work of the Week

KS1 Work of the Week

Congratulations to Tilly Parsons from Hedgehogs' class

KS2 Work of the Week

Congratulations to Amber Rawlings from Squirrels' class

Christmas Cross Country

Sadly, the Christmas Cross Country was cancelled today due to the weather. However once the sun came out, Y4 took the opportunity to get into the festive spirit and had their own mini event in our school grounds followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Lost Property

These coats have still not been claimed! This is your last chance to reclaim them and any other items. We will be donating all remaining lost property to charity on Friday.

Have you lost a coat?

Children can be collected from St Andrews Church after the service at 2.30 pm. Could you please let the school office know if your child will be coming back to school.

Foundation Stage children are not directly involved in the Carol service and a separate letter will be sent to Foundation Stage parents about this.

Children should not bring bags into school on this day. Packed lunches need to be put into disposable bags, rather than lunchboxes. This is to ensure that children are not carrying anything with them to the church as space is limited.
