Mexican dinner with my Condo Seniors STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBERT NEFF

August 11, 2017.

Why do my Condo Seniors need to come here to cut onions and let them soak all day?
First clue tonight was mexican night
I comment that the guacamole was not made with Haas avacados
They sent me to the store to buy Haas avocados, which were 3 for $5. They paid 80 cents each for non Haas.
Chastised, I walked to the porch. In time to see the storm cell over downtown St. Petersburg.
NOAA Weather App
One green and one red pepper
Four onions is never enough for me!
I have my spoon to taste them as they cook!
It's Chicken Fajita tonight
Oh yea!
Add chicken and fajita spices and stir
Add more fajita spice
That's a wrap!
Time to simmer a bit and wait
Everyone is starting to arrive for appetizers
Storm check
That's a nasty storm cell
The toast
I have to get in on the toast
One of the Divas brought over a Caprese salad. She didn't get the memo it was Mexican night
Improvised making the Italian dish into a Mexican dish by adding my Haas avocados
Perfecto!
Someone brought cowboy caviar
Break to order wine
Fajitas on the table
Went fast
Nothing left for the cat
12.5% alcohol doesn't last long here
No one asked if Watermelon was served in Mexican restaurants
We headed out to the porch to watch sunset
As I put this photo essay together, I was startled by the thunder
Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida was pummeled
