Life of a Photographer august 2017

Life of a photographer August 2017

Here is an overview of what I have been doing last month. I hope you have the same pleasure in watching it as I had in making it! The Life Of a Photographer is a monthly photo publication of what my life as a photographer looks like. Portraits, Beauty, Fashion and Business. Everything comes together in these publications. I will share those diverse and special moments for me with you as a viewer. Just for fun and to give you a glimpse of what my assignments look like and how it looks in my presentations. All the fun stuff i do in a month is placed here.

Maarten Memorial

One week per year I will donate my time for charity and year after year that is Maarten Memorial. My main goal is to capture the adrenaline smile and a litle bit of free-wheeling in between. During the gathering at Ahoy, the photo-moment at Kasteel Duivenvoorde and off course pitlane at circuitpark Zandvoort. How grateful is that? Let me tell you this, it is freakin gratefull, every year you see people fighting for their life against this terrible disease, and what may I do? Right capture their smiles at the moment that they are not ill, even it is for only 5 minutes....!

Testshoot for Cameranu.nl

Cameranu.nl, one of the biggest retailers in the Netherlands asked me if I was interested into a collaboration with them because of my Sony ambassadorship, why not :-)

My first thing was to write them a blog about the brand new Sony G-Master FE 2.8/16-35 GM lens

Together with ballerina Lizz van Huizen we went into the town centre of Almere to create some epic shots,

  • Ballerina: Lizz van Huizen
  • Make up by: Yasmine van der Meulen
  • Hair by: AVEDA Lifestyle Salon & Spa Almere

City scaping

One of my customers wants to have different objects in Amsterdam being photographed in my style, so once in a month or so I will do these sorts of assignments to. This is "REM EILAND"

Á panorama shot in HDR Bracketing style the panorama covers in total 16 pictures. Each separate picture is made of 4 pictures.

  • 1 correct exposed
  • 1 under exposed
  • 1 over exposed

These pictures are put together in photoshop which results in 1 photo with a lot of information in the shadows and highlights. the final step is to stitch those pics together to one panorama and tweak the picture

Family visit

We paid a visit to our family in the beautiful Dutch region Overijssel & Drenthe and since I have never ever have seen a Hunnebed (wiki) we drove to Havelte to see one of those stacks of stones. These rocks are pushed forwards during the ice-age under 150 meters of ice. 5000 years ago they stacked it and then iI only think, HOW.....?

Wine trip France, Bourgogne

At 2 o clock I returned with my dear friend Arend Jan de Wijnman from a wine trip in Bourgogne, France. Really, I have made some awesome jawdropping pictures there at places where almost no tourists are allowed, I have visited estates, slept with the French in their houses and have visited a funeral as well, so you can understand that I have lots of stories,

but thats all for next month :-)

This picture was made on the banks of the river Le Saône in the city of Macôn during sunset.
