Laguna Beach Village Entrance Project Phase 2A

Phase 2A Work to Begin September 3, 2019

Newly constructed Parking Lot 11, located at the intersection of Laguna Canyon Road and Forest Avenue, will remain open to public and employee parking during Phase 2A

Phase 2A work will require the closure of the Employee Parking Lot and the parking area behind City Hall.

Employee Parking to be Temporarily Relocated During Phase 2A

Parking Lot 10 located next to Art-A-Fair, Parking Lot 12 next to City Hall and a portion of Parking Lot 11 located at the intersection of Laguna Canyon Road and Forest Avenue will become temporary parking for displaced City vehicles and employees during Phase 2A of the Village Entrance Project (Monday through Friday).

Upcoming Improvements

Phase 2A

- Reconstruct Employee Parking Lot and parking behind City Hall

- Construct debris walls along the hillside

- Construct a new retaining wall in Parking Lot 12

- Install additional seat walls

- Install additional water quality basins

- Install additional landscaping and decomposed granite pathways

When Complete, the Village Entrance Project Will Provide 370 Vehicle Parking Spaces

Phase 2A Work includes the completion of Bridge 4 to provide access to parking from Laguna Canyon Road directly across from the Festival of Arts

Vehicular Bridge 4 will be completed during Phase 2A of the project

Paved roads, bridges, and new parking lots support better circulation and traffic flow at the Village Entrance Project site creating a safer environment for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles.

The Project features wide walking trails, new bicycle racks and new pedestrian paths made from decorative concrete and decomposed granite.

Project Progress: New Police Department Building Completed Over Summer

Construction was finished over the summer on a new Police Department storage building behind City Hall. Phase 2A work will include demolition of existing Marine Safety and older Police support buildings.
