Andrew Carnegie Robber baron or captain of industry?

Andrew Carnegie is a robber baron he supported workers rights but destroyed unions, he gave money to charity and technically still does, he was a captain of industry in his time but if you look back at the things he's done from a 21st century perspective you would think that he is a brutal boss, cruel to his workers, and overall a robber baron but if you think back to the 18th century you would think that he was a very smart man and that he was indeed a captain of industry but no one from the 18th century is and laws have been set and i will forever believe that Andrew Carnegie was a robber baron.

Carnegie forced his workers to work twelve hours everyday, seven days a week.
Carnegie only paid his workers one dollar and forty cents
