Techworks For Youth and young Adults Connect. Upskill. Employ.

Our Mission

Our mission is to connect youth and young adults to meaningful, sustainable employment and to sharpen their digital skill sets. Our team of counsellors, facilitators and business experts provide the resources needed for long-term employment success.

Let's talk Upskilling

TechWorks for Youth and TechWorks for Young Adults are dual intake tracks in our digital upskilling program. We deliver innovative programming island-wide on Vancouver Island as well as remote communities and islands.

We provide training to youth who want to sharpen workplace digital skills and find pathways to BC's growing digital job market. The TWY and TWYA teams will coach participants to translate existing skill sets and previous experience into digital workplace skills.

Programming includes:

  • 6 weeks of Virtual Classroom
  • Individualised Counselling and Coaching
  • Essential Skills
  • Digital Workshops
  • Job Search Skills
  • Up to 12 weeks of Work Experience

Best of all, it's free.

Imagine what careers are waiting

How does it work?

You can connect ANYWERE . Our blended web-based training provides participants in rural or urban communities with new opportunities to participate in building their employability skills.

You will learn through webinars and video calls, enabling participants to participate without having to arrange long distance support. It can all be done in the comfort of your home, or, even options like the library!

You can join anywhere from the Nanaimo Regional District, Cowichan Valley Regional District, or Port Alberni in the TWY stream, and anywhere on Vancouver Island in TWYA.

You may be eligible for additional supports such as participant allowance, short term training certificate training and childcare supports.
