Using Technology to Teach creativity in the classroom Lauren smith

Edutopia --> Project- Based Learning

Project-based learning (PBL) =projects are the core curriculum for a child's educational experience

PBL creates a learning environment in classrooms that fosters both creativity and teamwork AND allows students to be a part of their learning experience and the decision making processes that affects their education

Creativity is essential for the future of the United States & even the world. Creativity needs to be implemented in the classrooms.

"Technology supports creativity because it is a medium that requires interaction, unlike the one-way participation of an activity such as watching TV"
Technological tools used in the classroom in order to enhance student creativity: blogs for creative thinking, cartoon and comic strip tools, mind-mapping and brainstorming tools, creation of info graphics, digital story telling tools, etc.
"Creative thoughts are what took us to the Moon. We need to make sure that we remind students of the value of creativity, and that we give them every chance to show it in the classroom." -- Nicholas Provenzano (High school english teacher)
