Pedal clavichord Gerstenberg 18th century

Pedal clavichord 18th century - Johann David Gerstenberg

Geringswalde, 1760

Manual keyboard: C - e'''

Pedal: CC - d

The most exuberant clavichord from the 18th century is the pedal clavichord by Gerstenberg. This instrument has its origin in the Silbermannn tradition. Because of the 2 x 16' and 2 x 8' strings in the pedal instrument the clavichord sounds very monumental.

Such a pedal instrument was the favorite of J.S. Bach.
