For those who don’t know, prayer is just talking with God. It is our direct line of communication with our Heavenly Father. God wants us to communicate with Him as a central part of our daily walk with Him.

The Bible supports the use of prayer by giving us numerous examples. Some are:

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will deliver him, and honor him. Psalms 91:15

Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6

I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting. 1 Timothy 2:8

Praying is like talking to your best friend! It’s easy to talk to someone when you know they love you unconditionally!

ASK JESUS TO FORGIVE YOU of your sins and make you new in Him! When you turn your sins over to God, you can be cleansed of them.

TELL GOD YOUR NEEDS! He wants you to give all your worries and cares to Him because He cares deeply what happens to you!

THANK HIM, for He died on the cross for us! He loved us so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes will have eternal life.

APPROACH GOD WITH CONFIDENCE and belief that He will deliver. We can come fearlessly info God’s presence because we know He welcomes us gladly. He wants us to come boldly to the throne of grace, so we can receive His mercy and find grace to help us when we need it.

APPROACH GOD WITH JOY AND EXPECTATION. He has shown us the way of life and He will give us wonderful joy in His presence. We pray to Him because we know He will answer. He bends down and listens as we pray. He listens to our voice. We bring our requests to Him and wait expectantly.

Pray for each other. Pray with faith. Pray with worship and reverence.
