LESSON 1

I believe these Apps are very common and popular because they are easy to use, you can keep in touch with your family and friends and have fun with them. Also they might help in the education area or for spreading news faster around the world.

The apps that I use the most are:

  • WhatsApp to comunicate with my family and friends.
  • Spotify to listen to music while I´m using other applications.
  • Instagram to post pictures and follow my favorite celebrities.
  • Snapchat to keep in touch with my friends and send them funny pics.
FACT: Facebook is the most common app in the world, with more than 126 million users.

THE FOOD BOOK

I would like to invent an application that allows me to search for food recipies, searching by: country, ingredient, flavour, scent, chef, restaurant etc. This application would be for free and everyone can use it. It will also include a directory for a restaurant if people want to try the food.

FACT: Nine out of ten countries voted for pasta to be their favorite food.
STRESS RELIEF APP

This application will consist on music, movies, drawings, paintings, images and even T.V, shows where people who are stressed or feel any kind of depression can find a way to get distracted and disconnected from real life.

FACT: Laughter is the best medicine to cure stress (medically proved)

The apps I designed will be for people from 15 and more because they might have content that is not usual for kids, also, they are made of topics in which kids are not usually interested because they can´t cook or get stressed.
FACT: 75% of chefs said they’ve seen roaches in the kitchen.

LESSON 4

  • FACEBOOK: an application where people can share their pictures and comments with others.
  • WHATSAPP: this applicatiosn is used only for communication with one or more people but you can´t comment other´s images or ideas.
  • KINDLE: it is used for reading books or applications, listening to iBooks is also an option.
  • TWITTER: Is used to share ideas, uses hashtags and links to other posts.
FACT: More than 50% of consumers in the U.S. from 15 to 50 years own at least one smartphone.

We came with the idea of making the Cooking App, we changed the number to "Kitchen Canvas" because we though it was more crative, also "The Cooking App" already exists. We are still rearranging some of the ideas because we want this app to be original and easy to use.

FACT: The color orange was named after the fruit.

LESSON 6

  • APP NAME: Kitchen Canvas
  • INFORMATION: Generating a more efficient way of cooking organization for any kind kitchener, either experts or beginners. People that like to cook usually take time and effort to memorize ingredients, procedures, and observations of new recipes. The app will give its users the ability to create new ones and search for others of their interest by using keywords on a text box. People will also be able to make varieties of a dish while taking notes.
FACT: It is estimated that between 2013 and 2014 more than a half million tablets were sold.

  • Accelerometer: an electromechanical device that will measure acceleration forces. These forces may be static.
  • Stocks: with this application, the iPhone can compare the stock market between countries.
  • News: Gives the user the heading of the leatest news in order to inform the consumer about what is happening in it´s surroundings.
FACT: Samsung makes the processors that power the iPhone.

LESSON 8

IDEA STORM

  • Notification Center: to allow people to be aware when their friends or followers have posted soemthing new.
  • Comments Area: to allow people to write their points of view and their oppinions.
  • Grading: allow people to rate other´s posts and quualify their description.
  • Location: this will help look for places or restaurants nearby.
  • Camera: people will be allowed to upload pictures of their work.
  • Links: people will be linked-up to other blogs or magazines to know about certin food.
FACT: The GIF format was invented by Steve Wilke, an engineer at Compuserve in 1987.

The apps that I consider are similar to ours are: (Web Page linked on the name)

These apps are very competitive to ours because the have the same concept of sharing recipes with other people, the creators upload the app monthly (yummly), Weekly (Jamie Oliver) and even daily (Kitchen Stories). Two of these apps even have access to the Apple Watch or Apple TV, and they are all for free.

But as different from ours, people cannot post their own recipies or search by inredient, country or taste.

FACT: 16% to 20% of the searches Geoogle gets each day have never been Googled before

Design principles:

  • Easy to understand; Users may be allowed to get the idea of the app easily
  • Colorfull; it may have an armony of colors in order to make it attractive to the visual eye.
  • Clarity: it must be legible and should not look simple.
  • Deference; Information must be always there in case the user needs it

Activity lesson 10

Orange is the color of social communication and optimism. From a negative color meaning it is also a sign of pessimism and superficiality

LESSON 11

It might take only two taps in order to get back to the "home" or main part of the app, which in this case will be a menu with a searching button. It must be very eccesible because the users could be desperate to get to the beggining in case they are lost.
