In multiple instances students choose to join gangs instead of focusing in school, because they feel as if joining a gang is a solution to a non interest in school or non involvement in after-school activities.

If high school students were given more after-school activities that attracts their interest, many students can avoid the consequences that follow wrongful decisions.

Garinger High School has bright and outstanding students, but when after-school options are not given to attract students, many will choose to join gangs and earn fast money with many risks involved.

Garinger students Joining gangs not only affects the individuals life, but the life of others surrounding the individual such as peers and family.

The principal of Garinger High School should create more after-school programs to engage promising students, and provide a better option after regular school hours end to avoid students joining gangs.
