Florida Christian School will not reopen our physical campus this school year. We will complete this semester via our virtual learning initiative. Principals and teachers will communicate the specific details, dates and times for elementary, middle school, and high school regarding the last day for virtual learning and information on final exams in the upper divisions. I want to congratulate our FCS parents who have been so supportive of their students and teachers during this time. We know that these days have certainly been challenging, but we also know that through God's mercy we will all look back, as to how God has strengthened and taught us to depend on Him more, through these days. I thank God for each of you, and I have never been more proud to be a PATRIOT. - Dr. Andrews

CLASS OF 2020: Check your dedicated Senior website below for end-of-the-year details!

Remote Classroom Plan

We have been preparing for the possibility of transitioning to our Remote Classroom Plan due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. School administration and department leaders began contingency planning and adapting courses and instruction for remote learning. Our IT department has worked closely with RenWeb’s Student Information System (SIS) to ensure continuity and stability of services throughout this period.

Parents and students, you can expect to still receive information about lesson plans, assignments and grades through the current RenWeb SIS.

Beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020, our faculty will provide links to video instruction and all assignments via RenWeb's Homework Board. After Spring Break, teachers will also be hosting live discussions with their classes on a set schedule in order to enhance classroom instruction. These links will also be posted on RenWeb's Homework Board. We want to ensure that we use the same tools our students have been using, thus far, to avoid as much disruption as possible during this time.

As we continue enriching our Remote Classroom Plan after Spring Break, we want to make you aware of the standards we are setting for our students during this unique time. Below you will find the expectations and requirements for attendance, 4th quarter grades, and Zoom live lessons.

REMOTE CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE POLICY

Student attendance will be based on weekly assignment completions and Zoom sessions attended. Students are expected to attend all live Zoom classroom sessions as per the FCS Zoom Schedule (see schedule below). If a student fails to attend a scheduled, live Zoom lesson, the student will be given an unexcused absence unless a parent provides validation for an excused absence to attendance@floridachristian.org. However, the student will still be required to register and watch the recording for each lesson they missed.

FCS Online Learning Schedule

4TH QUARTER GRADING POLICY

In order to fulfill the academic and attendance requirements to complete the school year on time, students are required to complete and will be graded on all weekly assignments. Weekly 4th quarter grades will be posted on Renweb. If students do not comply with Remote Classroom attendance or grade standards, they are subject to not receive credit for that content area/grade level.

ZOOM LIVE LESSONS

Zoom will provide a platform for engaging, live lessons between teachers and students. Please see our student Zoom Live Lesson Policy below:

• Students are required to attend all live Zoom classroom sessions on-time and for the entire duration of the session as per the FCS Zoom Schedule.

• All students are expected to sign-in to their scheduled live lesson 5-10 minutes prior to start time.

• All students must wear an FCS school uniform shirt or FCS t-shirt with an appropriate bottom during all live Zoom classroom sessions.

• All students must adhere to the FCS Code of Conduct during all live sessions. Disciplinary action will be administered if a student does not abide by the Code of Conduct.
