Tena koutou katoa Chapel Downs whanau!

Its great to be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much to our staff, our parents/caregivers and our students who did everything to maximise learning opportunities at home over the past few weeks. There are several restrictions with ‘home learning’ programmes but in the circumstances we all worked together to make it as successful as possible.

Just a reminder under Alert Level 2, we strongly encourage all students to attend school. We advise any students and staff to stay at home if they are sick.

Physical distancing is a good precaution to help prevent the spread of disease. We do however know it is challenging in schools, so good hygiene practices and regular cleaning are even more important. This includes coughing into their elbows, handwashing and regular cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.

Key messages

-Parents/Caregivers can drop children at school from 8.30am

-We ask that only staff and students are to enter the classrooms

-Your child will need to bring a drink bottle of water and food for morning tea and lunch

-There will not be any whole school assemblies

-All students and staff will follow safe distancing guidelines. Under Alert Level 2 this is maintaining a physical distance so that they are not breathing on or touching each other.

-We will be giving the classrooms and toilets a thorough clean each day

-For more information about the public health measures at Alert Level 2, you can visit the Covid19 website: https://covid19.govt.nz

If you have any questions or have a child who might be vulnerable to serious illness and would like to discuss a plan for them, please contact me through the school office 09 274 8002.

Thank you once again to staff, parents/caregivers and students for your support!

Y6 Camp

It is with much regret that I am letting you know our Year 6 Camp will no longer be proceeding this term. The rapidly changing situation with the coronavirus has made us rethink our school camp and we have decided along with our Board of Trustees it would be best for the health and safety of our students, staff and families to no longer proceed. If you have already paid some or all of the camp fee please click on the link below and fill in all the information and submit the form for your refund to be processed. This will be refunded to you via internet banking. If you have already done this or sent back the return slip, you don't need to do it again.
