Steel helmets are essential to soldiers. They protected the skull from shrapnel. Shrapnel would rain down when the artillery would fire (Apocalypse).

The rifle is a soldiers weapon. This is used to shoot on coming troops. It is what you use to protect yourself when charging or being charged.

Both sides of the war used dangerous chemicals. Gas masks filtered the air the wearer breathed. This protected people against chemicals such as chlorine (Apocalypse).

Get Vaccinations

All soldiers should get vaccinations. They will help keep people from getting sick. Rats, mice and mosquitoes carry diseases. Common diseases are stomach flu, dysentery, and trench foot are common in the trenches (InspirEd).

Every soldiers worst nightmare is to be stuck in the open, a perfect target. Without this tool, soldiers were trapped. This shovel is used to dig the trenches that protect them.
