"Imagine there's no countries

It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people living life in peace, you"

The Song "Imagine," is by John Lennon and was released in October, 1971.

Other famous songs include "Jealous Guy", "Stand by me", and "Starting Over"

The lyrics to the song "Imagine," are trying to tell Americans to imagine a world without things like religion, race, and anger. John Lennon was against the thought of war and violence and wanted people to picture a world where people got along and became civil with each other. The lyrics relate by portraying a political standpoint of what the citizens think about the war. Americans want the violence to end. The Vietnam War had started in 1969 which is two years prior to when the song was first released. The overall message is protesting the Vietnam War. John Lennon was trying to get people to try to imagine a life without religion or labels, a place where everyone could live around each other happily.
