DIVE IN TO LAW SCHOOL A Virtual Law School Recruitment Event

Admissions Dean Panel: Thursday, August 27th at 1:30 p.m.

Candidates for admission to law school in 2021 are invited to Dive In! to a conversation with admissions deans from the University of North Carolina School of Law, University of South Carolina School of Law, and William & Mary Law School. The application process will be different this year, but we hope this virtual event will provide you with the tools you need to tackle it successfully.

Admissions Launches Virtual Recruitment Year

The University of South Carolina School of Law's Admissions team has launched a new recruitment initiative to help prospective students navigate the world of 'virtual' law school exploration and admission. South Carolina Law is partnering with the University of North Carolina School of Law and William & Mary Law School to host a national information and recruitment event under the title Dive In! to Law School.

After a successful first event in July, additional sessions have been scheduled for August 27th and September 24th at 1:30 p.m. EDT. Webinar participants will have a conversation with admissions deans at the three schools about the law school experience for first year students this fall, what the recruitment and application cycle will look like for 2021, and how prospective law students can prepare to thrive in this unique admissions environment.

“It seems unlikely that admissions professionals will travel on the traditional rounds of school visits and forums, both for safety and budget reasons, and also unlikely that in-person programming will be welcomed on college campuses this fall, at least in the formats and volume of the past, because of space issues and social distancing,” says Karen Britton, assistant dean for admission at South Carolina Law. “While our team was working remotely in April, we started talking about new ways to recruit and decided to get a fast start on the year with a collaborative event this summer. These three public law schools often attract the same applicants and appeal to candidates from East Coast states. Hosting a combined event with a national scope allows prospects to engage with all three schools in one session.”

There is no cost to participate and the workshops can be viewed on a computer with internet access or by cell phone. Prospective students can register to attend the August 27th event here. The registration link for the September event will be available soon.
