E-STEM South & AZ Learning Communities

Captain Planet Learning Garden Program provides schools with strategies for building effective and long-lasting garden-based learning programs. Teachers are provided with hands-on training, curriculum aligned to national standards, lesson kits filled with supplies, a schoolyard garden, fully-equipped garden cooking cart, and strategies for summer garden maintenance.

Outdoor classrooms bring science and math to life with standards-based activities, field investigations, and real world relevance.

Authentic data collection and analysis, project-based learning, and collaborative problem solving are among some of the best practices highlighted in garden explorations!

Explorations with appropriate technology, integrate science and math with other subjects, and conduct engineering challenges!

Collecting data in field journals and exploring the world around us! No money involved! Take in nature and learn freely!

Cliftondale is well on their way to incorporating best science and math practices in field-based learning! What an excellent way to get students excited about learning!
