ATTRITION STABILIZATION Case Study of Distribution Center Attrition Stabilization

OUR PARTNER'S CHALLENGE

In northern Nevada, there was a sharp decrease in unemployment as the area is quickly becoming a preferred location for warehouse facilities for several fast-growth and well-established companies. This situation affected the light industrial workforce, and the combination of low unemployment rates with the quick growth in the area created an extremely competitive recruiting & job market. Our partner was having increasing trouble with retaining top employees with this trend.

OUR FOCUSED APPROACH

Our partner, a fast-growth e-commerce company, worked with IntelliSource at the beginning of their peak season in 2015 to recruit, screen, hire and train and retain a high volume of top-talent in this competitive market. The plan was established to work on securing a reliable and consistent workforce while sustaining an attrition rate well below industry average through the following strategy:

RECRUITMENT

IntelliSource met with leaders in the partner company to gather information to plan a strategic marketing and sourcing process while keeping their customer's specific requirements in mind.

CANDIDATE SCREENING

IntelliSource conducted face-to-face interviews and skill testing with each candidate to assess skill-set, experience and personality fit in addition to setting expectations of the position.

HIRING PROCESS

Our on-site management validated all documentation as well as background and drug screen test results. The candidates were lead on a walk-through of the facility to assess each candidate’s ability to meet the physical requirements of the position. Once all needs were met, we extended offers to candidates who passed all assessments.

CONVERSION OF HIRES

The partner thoroughly evaluated the pool of IntelliSource associates for those with excellent safety, quality, attitude, and attendance. IntelliSource was able to lead the process and enable easy conversion of associates to their payroll, resulting in a meager attrition rate and high performing team.

  • WITHOUT THE INTELLISOURCE SOLUTIONS AND APPROACH, THE PARTNER'S ATTRITION RATE HAD THE POTENTIAL TO INCREASE AN ESTIMATED 21%
