How do you decide if you like someone? How do you show interest in them?

You decide you like someone by acknowledging the way you feel when that person speaks to you. Do you feel annoyed and uncomfortable or do you feel content and excited? You show interest in someone by being interested in whatever they have to say or the things that they enjoy. You start conversations and asks many questions about them and they interests. Listen closely and give encouraging remarks to show that you care.

Have you ever "passed on a kindness"?

I try to be as kind as possible to everyone I meet because you never know what someone else is going through. Your words may not seem big to you, but they can mean the world to someone else. I pack my lunch everyday for school. You never know whether or not someone will be able to eat when they get home. If someone seems hungry, I offer some of my own food.

Who is your biggest fan?

My biggest fan is my mom. She cheers for my success and expects the best in everything I do. For academics, she praises me for good grades and tells all of her friends how smart I am. In track, she's always cheering for me. When I don't have a good race , she gets upset, but only because she knows I can do better.

What do you love most about yourself? What do others love about you?

I love that I try very hard at everything I do (track, extra-curriculars, and school). I feel like it's helping to prepare me for my future. My mom says that she loved that I can form my own opinions and am not easily swayed. My friends often tell me that they love how funny I am and how I always know the right things to say.

Which of your senses is the most important to you? What would you do without it?

My sense of taste is most important to me. I love food and I love to eat, and the taste is the part I live for. My favorite flavors would lose all of their meaning. Without my sense of taste, eating and food itself would have little to no excitement.

How do you see yourself? How do you think others see you?

Physically, I see myself as a pretty decent looking individual. Other than that, I also see myself as being very kind, smart, and hardworking. I think that the vast majority of people I meet have a positive view of me. I get told often that I'm intelligent and funny. I hope that others see the best in me because I try to see the best in others.

Do you treat people as they are, or as they ought to be?

I treat everyone the same. I expect everyone to try hard and put their best effort into everything. Therefore, I expect people to always put their best foot forward. I do that because it's a quality that every person should have in every line of work.

How were you taught to tell the truth?

I was taught to tell the truth because that was the right thing to do. I was a good kid I suppose. In my family, telling lies was very bad we couldn't even say the word lie). If we were ever dishonest, we would get in a lot of trouble or even get spankings.

Have your parents ever practiced "long division" on you and your friends?

No. I've never been put or have put myself in that situation. I don't plan to either. Even if I would, it wouldn't be even close to a good idea if I did such a thing with either of my parents in the vicinity.

When has a friend opened up a whole new world for you?

A friend opened up a whole new world to me when track season started in my freshman year. It was really 6 friends. I didn't really have a lot of friends from Goodnight join track when we entered high school. The rest of the freshmen came from Miller, so I didn't really know them as well. However, they invited me into their group and treated me as a best friend. all of them are still some of my best friends now. I'm very thankful for them and their company.

What is the most important advise you have ever received?

The best advice I've ever received is to be more compassionate towards others. You never know what other people are dealing with. Sometime people just need reassurance that someone cares about them and thinks that their issues are relevant. Just wanting to be active in another's life and showing concern for their issues can improve their day or mentality.

What was the stupidest thing you have ever done? Did someone persuade you to do it?

I do the stupidest thing three times every nine weeks. I wait until the last week of the unit I do my seven outline essays for APUSH. No one persuades me, but the work load from my other class makes it hard for me to actually do them at a decent time.

Any topic of choice.

We have our first track meet of the season tomorrow. We're all really excited. It's at Canyon Lake so there will be good teams, but not the best of the best so I think we'll be alright. I have faith in my teammates and I pray they'll all do well tomorrow. I love my running events, but I'm most excited for triple jump.

What do you wish you knew then that you know now?

I wish I would have known that many people are always counting on me to do my best. If other people believe in me, then I should believe in myself. I wish I really would have known that my last two track seasons.
