James Madison Jacob Mcginnis

Early life

James was born on March 16 1751 in Belle Grove Port Conway, Virginia. James grew up on his fathers 2,600 acre plantation with his eleven siblings.


His first years of education was at a boarding school his father sent him to. He then received private tutoring back home. Also, for college Madison attended Princeton university.


Madison was appointed a colonel in the Orange County militia. however he soon gave up his military career for a political career becoming a U.S. congressman and a secretary of state under president Jefferson.

Presidency and impact

During madsions presidency, madison had a war procumation signed due to the attacks from great britain and france. Also, after madison was elected for his second term great britain invaded had burned down the white house. however, soon great britain and the U.S. signed the Treaty of Ghent which ended the war of 1812.

Fun facts

His last words were "I talk better lying down." Madison was related to both George Washington and Zachary Taylor.
