See you (at a distance) at annual meeting

The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a few changes to Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation’s Annual Meeting of Members. The 2020 Annual Meeting has been designed to bring you all the benefits of a traditional meeting, while limiting person-to-person contact in a "drive-through" format.

To allow more time for the flow of traffic, registration will open at 8 a.m. Members will enter the CGEMC campus through the Co-op Way entrance (between Highway 36 and Brownlee Road) and remain in their vehicle for the entire meeting. Employees will direct traffic to the registration area. There will be portable toilets and sanitizing stations along the route.

Music and information will be broadcast over a designated radio station in advance of the business meeting. Food and the ever popular bucket of goodies will be distributed to members in their vehicles. In lieu of door prizes, attending members will receive a bill credit for each account registered.

The business meeting will be broadcast at 10 a.m. over members’ car radios, and voting will be conducted by the sounding of horns. Upon conclusion of the meeting, we will draw from the pool of all registered members for one grand prize and post the winner on our social media channels.

While the 2020 Annual Meeting format will be a first for all of us, concern for the health and safety of our members and employees is our utmost priority. We look forward to seeing you (at a distance) on August 5, 2020!
