Sharing Shakespeare PlayMakers brings the Bard to NC schools

PlayMakers’ eduction department, through the Shakespeare for a New Generation program, brings two teaching artists into schools to engage students around a play before they attend the show.

Rasool & Jeri Lynn plan as the students begin to arrive at the Durham Nativity School.
And they are ready to explain all those love triangles in Twelfth Night!
The students are greeted with a smile, then it's time for some theatre warm-up exercises.

A lively intro to “Twelfth Night”

Roles are assigned for a super-fast & fun version of the play
With a little coaching they are ready to perform.

For a wrap-up exercise the students consider & discuss some of the play's themes.

I was so impressed with the students & how well prepared they were for the program—How fantastic it is to see another generation fall for the Bard.

With a round of applause, we wrap up... and PlayMakers heads off to another school.
