5. Zachary Taylor was a general. 6. Taylor was the one to send a note to Washington that the fighting had begun.
7. The U.S. Mexican war was decleared on May 18 1846. 8. The war was from 1846 to 1848.
9. Offensive is when you offend something or someone. 10. Some 6,000 people volunteered to fight in the war.
