winter nationals day 1 | black mountain bmx

On a brisk and windy Saturday in Phoenix, AZ, Black Mountain BMX continued to offer fans an amazing setting for some exciting BMX action. Fans continued to celebrate the semi-return of three-time National #1 Pro, Bubba Harris. While USA BMX's fastest track operator, Tyler Brown, continued his dominant form, Bubba Harris stole the weekend with his flashy racing and over-the-top style. Here's to Bubba being back on the track!

VET PRO RESULTS: 1. Tyler Brown 2. Bubba Harris 3. Josh Smith

This year's Winter Nationals saw the debut of the Jr. Elite classes for both men and women. Cameron Wood delivered another dominant performance on the men's side, while local Arizona riders Emily Hayes and Lexis Colby filled the top two slots on the women's side.

JR ELITE RESULTS:

While Daylight Cycle's and Arizona rider, Corben Sharrah recovered from an early exit in Friday's main event to land on the podium tonight, it was the smooth riding of reigning National #1 Pro Joris Daudet that ruled the day again. Daudet, with three National #1 Pro Titles, is chasing the weekend's fan favorite, Bubba Harris, and Alise Willoughby's coach, Sam Willoughby, to his record setting fourth National #1 Pro Title.

'Insane' Brooke Crain followed Sharrah's path to the podium on Saturday night. After exiting the competition on Friday night with an early wreck, Crain clawed back to the podium on Saturday with a gritty performance of her own. But again, it was Alise 'The Beast' Willoughby who continued her winning ways with another trip to the top of the podium in the Women's Elite class.

ELITE RESULTS:

MEN: 1. Joris Daudet 2. Coren Sharrah 3. Jeremy Rencurel

WOMEN: 1. Alise Willoughby 2. Brooke Crain 3. Rachel Mydock

Racing kicks off on Day 2 of the Winter Nationals at 8:00am Sunday. With the end of the 'Pro Show' in Phoenix, we'll turn our attention to the reigning National #1 Amateurs Ronnie Kim and Danica Anderson to see if they can land atop the podium in their respective classes.
