Grandparent Alienation Awareness Day 14th June

The 14th June is recognised as Grandparent Alienation Awareness day. There are currently 1 million grandparents that are denied access to a loving relationship with their grandchildren in the UK

Grandparent alienation can sometimes be associated with parental alienation. This is the term given to describe a set of coercive and controlling behaviours that leads to a child emotionally cutting off from a “good enough” parent who poses no safeguarding risk to them. Grandparents (and other family members) are indirectly affected by this issue when a child becomes alienated from one of their parents.

Between now and the 14th of June we will be running several campaigns to raise awareness. Firstly, our placard campaign for Grandparents, or anybody that is supporting an alienated grandparent. Post your selfies to our event page on facebook here or onto your own profile with the placard stating why you are raising awareness of grandparent alienation.

The green ribbon or wristband is the recognition of grandparent alienation. Wear a cause ribbon or wristband with dignity and pride to help to raise awareness throughout the month of June.

Add the Facebook photo frame to your profile picture throughout the month of June to raise awareness

In England children have NO automatic RIGHT to see their grandparents or extended family. Give children the AUTOMATIC RIGHT to see all members of their family. You have the ability to help change this law by signing and sharing this petition.
