Muslims have 6 main beliefs The belief that Allah is the one and only God, the belief in angels, belief in the holy books, belief in prophets, belief in the day of judgement, and belief in Predestination.
- In the Islamic faith they have the five pillars of Islam. These are the duties every Muslim must perform.
- 1. Shahadah: Declaration of faith.
- 2. Salah: This is prayer. Muslims must pray five times a day in the direction of Mecca.
- 3. Zakat: Giving a fixed proportion to charity.
- 4. Saum: Fasting during the month of Ramadan.
- 5. Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca.
Muslims get their scripture from the Holy Qur'an. The Qur'an is regarded with great respect because it is said to be the unaltered word of Allah.
Muslims place of worship is known as a mosque. They usually have domed roofs and tall towers. In Arabic mosque is masjid, which means place of prostration.
The majority of the Muslim population is found in Indonesia. With this religion being the second largest in the world it has spread across the globe, but it is mostly located throughout Asia, the Middle East, and countries in Africa.
