Over the course of the Summer Term we have a number of exciting things happening in school and wanted to share these with you.
Bruce Dyer is coming into school next week, initially working with Classes 1, 2 and 3, around making the right choices and what it means to be part of a community. Bruce is an ex-professional footballer who has dedicated his life to support children across South Yorkshire and we are delighted that he will be working with us over the Summer Term.
As a result of the COVID restrictions we have not been able to take children to Crucial Crew so we have arranged for PC Mick Plant to come into school. He has 19 years experience working in SYP and has supported a number of schools locally so this will be a really useful session.
Classes 4, 5 and 6 have already had a visit from a local artist and have all made clay rhinoceros sculptures. These will form part of an exciting exhibition and we can't wait to see it.
In addition to this these classes are taking part in a writing project ran by Pie Corbett and David Mitchell. Pie Corbett is an English educational trainer, writer, author and poet who has written more than two hundred books. His passion for writing is incredible and the children will get so much from these sessions. We will also be extending our school Blog to share and celebrate the work that they will be doing.
Classes 7, 8 and 9 will be taking part in an Enterprise Challenge day based on their current topic - At the Seaside. This day will be run by Paul Robson from 'Primary School Enterprise' and will see children working in teams to design and make a product. These will then be showcased to the school and families.
