Ferdinand Magellan 1517–1521

Ferdinand Magellan was born in Mactan, Philippines April 27, 1521.
Ferdinand Magellan explored under Portugal originally but in 1517 he sailed for Spain.
He set out on a western sea route to the Spice Islands.
Ferdinand kept his country up from failing economically, for it was Portugal's major business "The Spice Trade". Ferdinand was the first to travel across the Pacific and found the strait know as "Strait of Magellan". He also confirmed that the world was round.
His voyage opened up new trade routes and which led to more cities in new places
Ferdinand set out to explore in September 20, 1519.
Ferdinand Magellan's voyage was 3 years long.
