North Dakota Veterans Home Lisbon, ND COVID-19 UPDATE 6-26-2020

Gov. Doug Burgum and the North Dakota Long Term Care Association designated Tuesday, June 23, as Silver Linings Day in our state. This day was set aside to recognize our long term care community for going above and beyond during these challenging times.

The community of Lisbon came together and provided the LTC facilities with a wonderful parade on a picturesque day. Thank you to all who participated!

Residents were ready to view the parade and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.
This is what it is all about. Caring for America's Heroes.
Wally came out to cheer the crew on. We had great team and resident participaton.
Beautiful ladies inside and out!
Way to go for wearing your mask Bob! We can feel your smile coming through.
Robin and Darwin found a front row seat.
Bill is revving up his engine!

Red, white and blue was our theme. The day was truly about showing appreciation for all the staff do in each of our local facilities: Parkside Lutheran Home, The North Dakota Veterans Home and The Beverly Anne Assisted Living. There are many staff in each of these places going above and beyond every day to make a difference in the lives of those that live there. The Staff deserve this day and more to acknowledge the amazing job they do. They should all be so proud!

Richard, playing shy!?!
Dean looks great in that hat!
The beard is a great disguise; not quite sure who that is sitting by Willy.
The B POD crew awaits the line-up.

We love our Community!

Giant Jenga draws a crowd

It did not take long for others to join in when they witnessed from the hallway windows the fun that was happening in the B-C courtyard. N/A beer was also a draw on this beautiful June day.
And......that's a wrap.

If you have ever visited the Peace Garden household you certainly have met Alycia Berglund. Alycia is an RN and the Clinical Care Partner in Peace Garden. Alycia earned a BSN from NDSU. We are so proud of you Alycia! Nurse, wife, mom, friend, co-worker you give 100% always.

Roger has connections and we are glad he shared them with us. Roger is pictured to the right with Kelly Lyons, RN, CCP. Ruth Fletcher of Webster and Teri Thompson of Devils Lake are friends of Rogers and have been kind over the years in donating patriotic quilts for our residents. As discussion took place on what types of gowns our team would need, Roger offered his friend's sewing expertise. The fabric that was chosen was not an easy one to work with yet Ruth and Teri diligently fulfilled our order. Thank you so much!

Talk about thoughtful people; the team made a special length gown for our Director of Nursing, Wanda Cavett.

Thank you for the privilege of caring for your family member!
