Jasmine's Road to Traveling Who I am and where I'm going to be

All About Me

When it comes to getting to know me you first must know that some of the most important things in my life are my family and friends. I like to consider myself loyal to the people who have been there for me even when I thought I didn't need them. My family and friends make my life 100% better than if they weren't with me. My friends help create happiness and adventure in my life. While my family, well...they have just always been there for me. They encourage me to follow my dreams and have even inspired me to realize what my dream is: Travel.

Why I Want to Travel

When I look at my future, I can see myself traveling. There are so many places, I would love to visit and see for myself. I want to be able to go into a new city and experience their lifestyle and culture. I know that every culture is different and discovering the beauty of as many cultures as I can, is what inspires me every day to make sure my life as a traveler comes true. There are so many places I want to visit, but I have a list top 5 cities that I would like to visit within the next 10 years.

Barcelona, Spain

The first city on my top five list of cities to visit is Barcelona, Spain. If you ask anyone that knows me where I want to travel to, they will say Barcelona. Barcelona is known for their food, art and colorful architecture, which I want to experience in person. I am also a big fan of the Barcelona FC soccer team, so I would love to go see them play live at their stadium. Barcelona has always been my number one place to travel to and will always be until the day I go.

Rome, Italy

The second city on my list, is Rome Italy. I want to go to Rome for two reasons. The first reason is because I have always been amazed by the art, history and architecture that lives in Rome. That's why I want to go see the David statue and go visit the Roman Colosseum. Another reason is that I am Roman Catholic, so I would love to visit the churches and hopefully see the Pope.

Athens, Greece

The third city on my list is Athens, Greece. Greek Mythology was always one of my favorite things to learn about growing up. I know that they are myths, but some of the places we learn about in school are very much real. I want to be in Athens and see some of the ruins that have been there for centuries, like the Parthenon.

Giza, Egypt

The fourth place on my list is to visit Giza, Egypt. Many people who have visited the Great Pyramids of Giza have told me how amazing it is. One of my favorite movies as a child was always “The Prince of Egypt”. I could watch this movie a hundred times, so it would be a dream come true to see some of the architecture that the Egyptians build in the movie but in real life as well.

Machu Picchu, Peru

The last city on my top 5 to cities to visit is Machu Picchu, Peru. I enjoy hiking up mountains with my friends and the Mountain in Machu Picchu looks amazing. It’s one of the most famous mountains to hike. To me it’s one of the iconic hiking trails and It has an amazing view. I have also been told that the top of the mountain is very peaceful and I like have a good peaceful moment, especially when life gets hectic.

My plan to Travel

Step 1: Graduate from College!

My first step is to finish college and graduate with my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. My parents have always wanted me to get a college degree. Finishing school would not only make them happy, but help me move onto step 2 as well.

Step 2: Get a good Job!

a. After I graduate from CSUF with my degree, I will begin my search for a good job. I will need to find a career that will allow me to not only save money for my future as a traveler, but also allow me to take time off. Many jobs might not allow me to take many days off for vacation. If I can find a job that gives me a good amount of paid vacation, then I will know I found the perfect job for me.

Step 3: Start Saving Money!

I know that if I want to travel, I'm going to need money. That's why I plan on being able to save at least $300-500 a month. This will allow me to save enough money for one trip by the end of the year.

Step 4: Plan the Trip!

Once I finally get the degree, job and money to travel, the last step is simple. It's time to start planning my vacation. I need to be able to figure out what dates my new trip will start on and all the details that go along with that; flights, hotels, passports etc. Once the plan has been made then I can start on a whole new adventure.
