Dayton Flyers 2016-17 Winter season in review

Dayton is the only NCAA Division I school to have seven combined regular season and/or tournament championships through the fall and winter this year.

Dayton celebrates its first outright A-10 regular season conference championship.
Class of 2017 becomes the winningest class in Dayton history with 102 wins. First class to go to the NCAA tournament all four years.
Kyle Davis named A-10 Sixth Man of the Year
Scoochie Smith was named All-Atlantic 10 First Team, Charles Cooke was named All-Atlantic 10 Second Team, and Kendall Pollard was named All-Atlantic 10 Third Team. Cooke and Davis also earned All-Defensive Team honors.

Women's basketball secures A-10 regular season championship with OT win over SLU
Kelley Austria joined the 1,000-point club, becoming the 24th person to earn this mark. Austria was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Year and All-Conference Second Team and Defensive Team.
Senior Saicha Grant-Allen set a school record for offensive rebounds with 290
Shauna Green’s first season as head coach, the Flyers won their third Atlantic 10 regular season championship. She was named the 2017 WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year.
Women's Track and Field -- third place finish at the A-10 Indoor Championship!
Erin Reese named the Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2017 A-10 Indoor Championship with gold medals in weight throw and shot put
Sarah Sepanski wins the pentathlon at the A-10 Indoor Championship
Freshman Kris Lindow was named to the A-10 Women’s All-Rookie Team for shot put and weight throw.
Dayton is the most balanced program in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers are coming off a third-place finish at the 2017 A-10 Indoor Track and Field Championship – in which eight student-athletes scored for Dayton. UD also has a strong distance program, taking runner-up at the 2016 A-10 Women's Cross Country Championship.
