Welcome to our adventure...

We're starting 2017 with the launch of our travel consultancy. Strawberry Holidays, a family-run, independent travel firm bursting with passion for travel.

We're Fiona and Kate and we've known each other for over 8 years and our husbands are father and son. We're both successful in our careers but want to quit working for others. So we've bolted our talents together into this business - something we love with their heart and soul.

“We’ve had the idea of going into business together for well over a year. Everything finally fell into place back in September and we’ve been on a whirlwind journey ever since!” says Kate.

All at Strawberry Holidays are keen travellers and we're excited to turn clients’ holidays into memories to treasure. We'll use the web, Facebook and Twitter and build a community of clients. Strawberry Holidays already has a waiting list of people keen to start the search for their next break and we're excited to get started!

Not a new destination, or even emerging but Mexico is seeing a resurgence of interest as data shows that it's going to be in the top 3 destinations for Brits next year. Make sure to beat the crowds! Whether you've been before or are new to the country, you'll be surprised with new experiences.

Co-founder Fiona and her husband Michael, enjoyed their honeymoon in Mexico - they loved it there. It's such a special place for them and they would recommend it as an ideal wedding or honeymoon destination.

We don't need an excuse for a holiday to Mexico, but prepare your senses for an experience full of magic, history, colour, flavours and warmth. holidays here combine tropical beaches with ancient Mayan ruins with purpose built resorts and some of the best nightlife in Central America.

For holidaymakers the coastal areas hold the most appeal but the country stretches from the Caribbean to Pacific coasts and glues together the USA in the north to Guatemala and Belize in the south. It packs in everything from mega cities to tiny pueblos and ancient jungle to Mayan relics.

More and more Brits are heading to the hundreds of shores of Croatia and it's islands. With more than 12 hours of sunshine in the summer, dramatic scenery (just ask Game of Thrones fans) and spectacular history it's easy to see why.

Holidays to Croatia have really crept onto the radar over the last few years. This scenic part of Eastern Europe scores highly on everything from beaches to history.

A large part of Croatia's appeal is the coastline but Dubrovnik and Split are fantastic spots for short and city breaks. Walkers will love the pine-crested hills and if you love the water you will be afforded plenty of opportunities to enjoy sailing and more. While the shallow waters are ideal for all levels of divers.

The happiest place on Earth (well 5 actually)

Did you know there are now 5 Walt Disney Resorts scrambled across the globe? Popular with us Brits are of course, Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando and Disneyland Resort, Paris. But there's Disneyland Resort, California (the original Happiest Place on Earth), Disneyland Resort, Shanghai, Disney Resort, Tokyo, Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong.

Across the globe there are 12 parks to explore and enjoy - follow our Disney series to see and learn more.

Kate at Strawberry Holidays has visited 3 of the Disney Parks. Orlando in 2014, California in 2015 and Paris in 1997, 2001 and 2006.

My favourite has to be California but only because it was the first park that Abigail has seen. The 3 of us had a blast at the two parks - they're travel moments I'll never forget.

Next issue: More Disney from Kate's blog on the Holroyd's epic road trip through California. NEW to Strawberry Holidays. The best golf breaks.

Thanks for reading, Kate & Fiona x
