Bonjour, et bienvenue! The 1P French course has been re-imagined. Now, students have the opportunity to do authentic learning by brainstorming, researching, authenticating, designing, writing, and creating a travel guide document completely in French!
Students will select/be given a country that has French as an official language. This country will be theirs for the entire semester, and they will be responsible for becoming our class expert. Students will explore a wide variety of media to develop an idea, and share what this country has to offer.
The Peel District School Board is a supporter of new age learning. It encourages students to BYOD (bring your own device). This assignment will include a variety of contemporary subjects which will require the use of devices (cellular phones, tablets, laptops, desktops). Students will be taught to use their devices tools, as opposed to entertainment.
Students will be required to learn French language skills to accompany their work. Language learned will include, but is not limited to: present tense verbs, adjectives, passe compose, futur simple, imperative, and new vocabulary.
Each page in your guide will have specific requirements. These requirements are outlined by a checklist made within Google Docs.

At the end of the year, you will submit a physical Guidebook, as well as a Spark page that includes all of your work from throughout the semester.
