Upcoming Instructional Technology Professional Development
There is a host of great Tech PD in the region this winter/spring. If you are still looking to spend those PD funds this year, please consider these tech conferences which all have a far more instructional focus than pure tech focus.

The 21st Century Learning Conference is the annual event in Hong Kong where teachers, EdTech staff and school leaders gather to learn about the future of education from thought leaders, technology and learning experts, and their peers. The event blends together inspirational keynotes, practitioner led workshop sessions, and fun networking opportunities. Now in it’s 9th year, it is the leading professional development event for technology in education & innovative learning for K-12 schools in South East Asia.
Rethinking Numeracy is a conference to encourage K-12 educators to rethink the notion what being numerate means and how it can best be taught in the digital age. This will be a first run conference based off of the success of the Rethinking Literacy conference last year.
Rethinking Literacy is a conference to encourage K-12 educators to rethink the notion of what literacy is and how it can best be taught in the digital media age. This conference was a high;light of my personal learning last year; a conference where everything is targeted toward one curricular area. I wish all tech conferences were more like this weekend conference.
The Level 5 offers smaller weekend workshops covering a variety of topics. Topics upcoming include:
- Arduino's and Robots and Coding! - 11 & 12 Feb, 2017
- Create: Street Art - 25 & 26 Feb, 2017

Office 365 Tip of the Week!-This past weekend I was at the Office 365 Summit hosted by AISG in Guangzhou. It was a great opportunity to dive deeper into the Office 365 suite and see what other practitioners in the region are going with O365 in their schools. One of the big take aways was OneNote. OneNote is an app included in the O365 suite and one that I think you will get a lot of use from in your team O365 groups. Watch the video below to learn more about OneNote (will need VPN).
